The Fort Hood Visitor Center is renamed in honor of the late Congressman Marvin Leath, Republican of Texas. The center, located at the Main Gate to Fort Hood, Texas, serves visitors to the post 24 hours a day. Marvin Leath represented the 11th Congressional District of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1979-1991. During his time in office, he helped secure nearly $1 billion in funding for Fort Hood. Mr. Leath also served as a member of the House Budget Committee and Armed Services Committee.
