150422-F-WU507-006: Tech. Sgt. Michael Moomaw, 89th
Summary
150422-F-WU507-006: Tech. Sgt. Michael Moomaw, 89th Airlift Wing flying crew chief, inspects the landing gear components and compartment of a C-40 prior to a mission to Armenia, April 24, 2015. Moomaw maintains, prepares, launches and recovers Special Air Mission aircraft for the 1st Airlift Squadron. In addition to the Boeing C-40B, the 1st AS flies C-32As; and the 89th Airlift Wing is also home to the 99th Airlift Squadron, which flies C-20B, C-37A and C-37B Gulfstream aircraft, and the Presidential Airlift Group, which flies the Boeing VC-25 aircraft. Rather than the uniforms typical of Air Force maintainers, 89th Airlift Wing FCCs typically work in Air Force ‘blues’ uniforms or suits and ties. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt.
