Mayo’s current duty station is Okinawa, but he is currently on Hawaii participating in Rim of the Pacific 2016, a multinational military exercise, form June 29 to Aug. 8 in and around Hawaiian Islands. Mayo, a native of Detroit, is a radio operator with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The Marines of III MEF travel year-round throughout the Pacific, building partnerships with regional allies and training to quickly respond to any crisis that may arise.
