160921-M-KK554-042 MUSCAT, Oman (Sept 21, 2016) U.S. Marines from 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) set up processing stations inside the U.S. embassy in Muscat, Oman for a non-combatant evacuation operation rehearsal on Sept. 21, 2016. 22nd MEU, deployed with the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, is maintaining regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. The non-combatant evacuation exercise is an opportunity for the U.S. and Oman to practice a bilateral mission of quickly providing security and safety to U.S. and international citizens abroad during a natural disaster or contingency.
