180716-G-ZV557-1106 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 16, 2018) A Coast Guard Tactical Delivery Team (TDT) perform a hook and climb operation to board the Philippine Navy frigate BRP Andrés Bonifacio (FF 17) during a training operation as part of Rim of the Pacific (RIMAPC) exercise, July 16. TDT members are part of the Coast Guard's Maritime Security Response Team-West, and routinely train to board compliant and non-compliant vessels. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships, five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among the participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
