190425-N-AT530-1090 ARABIAN GULF (April 25, 2019) – Sailors assigned to the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) and Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) move a heat shield under the engine of an MV-22 Osprey after it lands on the flight deck of Fort McHenry. Fort McHenry is part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked MEU, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the central region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
