2nd Lt. Ryan Miller, assistant logistics officer for 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, referees an amateur league American football game between the Riga Lions from Latvia and the Tartu Titans from Estonia in Upesciems, Latvia July 5. Miller, a native of Batesville, Ind., served as a guest referee with two other paratroopers from the 173rd Abn. Bde. Approximately 600 paratroopers from the brigade are in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, an unscheduled land-forces exercise to demonstrate commitment to NATO obligations and sustain interoperability with allied forces. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
