The vessels include, from left: the Peruvian frigate BAP MANUEL VILLA VICENCIO (FM-52), the destroyer USS HAYLER (DD-997), the Peruvian frigate BAP MONTERO (FM-53), the guided missile cruiser USS JOSEPHUS DANIELS (CG-27), the Peruvian frigate BAP MARIATEGUI (FM-54), and the guided missile frigate USS STEPHEN W. GROVES (FFG-29). The ships are taking part in Unitas XXXI, an annual, joint exercise between the U.S. Navy and the naval forces of nine South American countries
