Summary
A floating bridge segment opens automatically in the Imjin River April 6 after being dropped in by truck. After the segment opened, Fort Hood, Texas-based Soldiers from the 74th Multi-Role Bridge Company ‘RiverRats,’ 62nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, moved the segment into place with bridge erection boats to create a floating bridge capable of supporting some of the Army’s heaviest armored vehicles. U.S. and South Korean forces conducted a four-day, combined arms river crossing exercise from April 5-8, one of the largest of its kind in more than a decade. (U.S. Army photo by Capt.
