A landing craft air cushioned from the USS Germantown lands on Freshwater Bay beach in Shoalwater Bay Training Area as amphibious assault vehicles from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit secure the beach as part of an amphibious assault during Talisman Sabre 2011 July 19, 2011. Approximately 350 Marines assaulted the beach. TS11 is a biennial joint international training exercise held through the month of July aimed at improving and validating the Australian Defense Force and United States combat readiness and interoperability as a combined joint task force.
