A simulated bomb was located in a men's room on the first floor of Cheyenne Mountain. After the area was evacuated and guards posted to seal off the entrance, an explosive team with a sniffing dog were called into verify that the package contained explosives. They were participating in the 21st Space Wing's Operational Readiness Inspection conducted at Cheyenne Mountain Air Station and Peterson AFB, Colo., 13 to 17 February 1996. The Inspector General's Team tested their ability to respond to battle conditions, power outages, mobility deployments, aircraft and automobile accidents, hostage situations, bomb threats, armed robbery, terrorism, and communication disruptions
