A Ukrainian national guard soldier uses a hand signal
Summary
A Ukrainian national guard soldier uses a hand signal to tell his comrades behind him to walk in a file as they enter rough terrain Aug. 17, 2015, in Yavoriv, Ukraine. Soldiers use hand signals to minimize the amount of noise created as part of their training during Fearless Guardian. Paratroopers with the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade are in Ukraine for the second of several planned rotations to train Ukraine's newly-formed national guard as part of Fearless Guardian, which is scheduled to last through November.
