A US Navy sailor on board the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) observes the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) coming alongside. With both carriers and their embarked air wings, the US now has some 100 strike aircraft operating independently in the waters of the Persian Gulf.
