Afghan National Army Brig. Gen. Shahbudeen, commander, Afghan National Military Police Brigade in Parwan, was recognized with a promotion ceremony hosted by Maj. Gen. Ghulam Farouq, commander, Afghan Detention Operations Command in Parwan, May 12, 2012. In attendance were Lt. Gen. Keith M. Huber, commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435, and Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. CJIATF 435 and Task Force Protector have been partnering with the ANA for an effective transition of detention operations from U.S. to Afghan control. “We will work hard to fulfill the promises of the Memorandum of Understanding,” said Farouq. Under the terms of the memorandum, the U.S. will continue to provide support and advice to the Afghan commander for up to one year after the transition is complete.
