Afghan National Army recruits conduct M16A2 weapons
Summary
Afghan National Army recruits conduct M16A2 weapons training and qualification at a range in Kabul, Sept. 20, 2011. ANA Instructors lead the new soldiers through loading, clearing and troubleshooting procedures as well as aiming techniques and weapons safety before they qualify on the firing range. Weapons training is just a small part of the ANA basic training course which now includes literary courses for recruits that don’t already know how to read. The US military assists in the basic and advanced training of enlisted recruits, and also runs the Drill Instructor School which produces new training non-commissioned officers for the basic training courses.
