Summary

Amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) arrives to its homeport after completing an eight-month Western Pacific deployment. Peleliu was the flagship of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group consisting of amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), and embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
