ARAWA, Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea (July 2, 2015) Royal New Zealand Air Force Wing Cmdr. Jennifer Atkinson, Pacific Partnership 2015 chief of staff, talks to Bougainville community leaders during a family violence prevention workshop at the Tuniva Learning Center. The group met to discuss how to prevent domestic violence abuse as part of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security. The hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) is currently at its second mission port of Papua New Guinea as part of Pacific Partnership 2015. Pacific Partnership is in its 10th iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary service to more than 38,000 animals.
