Galena, AK (Aug. 6)--AMT1 Dan Lechtner of Air Station Kodiak found himself loading fuel onto a C-130 in Galena, AK, as four airplanes and 30 crewmen made it their home during tow significant cases in the Bering Sea recently. The HC-130 Hercules is a long-range surveillance and transport, fixed-wing aircraft that is used to perform search and rescue, enforcement of laws and treaties including illegal drug interdiction, marine environmental protection, military readiness, and International Ice Patrol missions, as well as cargo and personnel transport.
