California Army National Guardsmen from the 185th Military Police Battalion, 49th Military Police Brigade, salute as a vehicle carrying a deceased volunteer firefighter rolls into the Napa County Sheriff’s Department in Napa, California, Oct. 16. The salute pays the utmost respect to the deceased, says Col. Robert Paoletti, 49th commander, who stood behind the formation.
