Caught in the grip of a drought that has lasted for more than three years, millions of Ethiopian farmers and herdsmen are dependent on food grains and other emergency assistance provided by the international community. AID's Food for Peace program is supplying more than 64,000 metric tons of wheat, corn, sorghum, and instant corn-soya milk for famine relief in addition to other U.S. assistance designed to supplement and upgrade medical and nutritional services for the drought victims.
