Summary
Changes to the Marine Corps uniform policy have been approved according to Marine Administrative Message 011/16. The current seasonal uniform policy, based on continental United States daylight saving time dates, will continue to establish the standard seasonal uniform change dates. However, not all personnel will switch into the desert utility uniform on March 13. The Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Robert B. Neller, has granted base commanders permission to choose which set of utilities their Marines will wear. This change was made in an effort to match the uniform to the local natural terrain. Marines should be aware of this when transitioning between duty stations in case they need to switch uniforms. The Marines on Camp Lejeune, N.C., will continue to wear their woodland utilities year-round, but will begin rolling their sleeves March 13. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
