Chaplains from the North Carolina National Guard, Fort
Summary
Chaplains from the North Carolina National Guard, Fort Bragg, and the Botswana Defense Force take a moment to pray before discussing different religions that the Army now recognizes and how chapels are built and shared between religious groups, among other issues at Fort Bragg, Sept. 11, 2013. Col. David Mapitse, Botswana chief chaplain, and Col. Kagiso Kgaswanyane, assistant chief of staff personnel from the Botswana Defense Force, visited North Carolina as part of Botswana’s State Partnership Program with the state. The two BDF leaders participated in a benchmark exercise to review methods, of induction, appointment and deployment of chaplains, by using the National Guard as an example to restructure their chaplaincy in the Republic of Botswana.
