Col. John H. Hort, left, a Fayetteville, N.C., native, who serves as commander of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, awards an Army Commendation Medal to Sgt. Omar Ciro, Company A, 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, at Combat Outpost War Eagle Jan. 28. Ciro was presented the medal for his efforts in capturing two insurgents emplacing improvised explosive devices.
