Col. Charles A. Lindbergh, 110th Observation Squadron, 35th Division, Missouri National Guard, and famed aviator known for his historic flight from New York to Paris in the "Spirit of Saint Louis" in 1927, prepares for takeoff from Robertson Field (Saint Louis) in a Douglas O2H-C (early 1930s). The mission of the 110th Observation Squadron, established June 23, 1923, was observation and reconnaissance and is now known as the 131st Bomb Wing and 110th Bomb Squadron, Missouri Air National Guard, at Whiteman AFB, MO.
