Family and friends look on as the amphibious assault

Family and friends look on as the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge departs Naval Station Norfolk, Aug. 27, for Pakistan to help provide relief to flood-stricken regions. Kearsarge ARG and 26th MEU are executing an early deployment to the region in support of ongoing humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations. KSG ARG is made up the following units; Commander, Amphibious Squadron FOUR, the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Kearsarge, the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall and the amphibious platform dock ship USS Ponce.
