Galena, AK, June 12, 2014 -- FEMA Region X Administrator Ken Murphy (C) and FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer, Willie Nunn (CR) meet with the Galena Mayor Jon Korta (CL) to discuss recovery measures. One year has passed since the thunder of ballistic ice loomed over several Interior Alaskan communities that witnessed record-level floods in May 2013. Today, the sound of hammers, saws and power tools heralds in the start of construction season as volunteers and residents work to complete recovery efforts initiated last summer. Adam DuBrowa/ FEMA
