In the darkness at Byrd Field, the crewchief stops his aircraft so weapons loaders from the Virginia Air National Guard's 192nd Fighter Wing (FW) can perform End of Runway (EOR) procedures before an F-16C Fighting Falcon takes off in support of Operation NOBLE EAGLE. The 192nd FW is located just outside of Richmond at Byrd Field in Sandston, Virginia. NOBLE EAGLE is a partial mobilization of the reserves for homeland defense and civil support missions in response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 at the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon
