JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2015) – Hospitalman Apprentice Richard Dupree, of Naval Hospital (NH) Jacksonville’s pediatric clinic, checks Claire Hessler’s bilirubin level during a check-up at the hospital. Claire was one of the first babies born at NH Jacksonville where nitrous oxide was used for labor pain management by mom. Nitrous oxide is self-administered and has no effect on baby. NH Jacksonville is North Florida’s first hospital certified “Baby Friendly” by the World Health Organization and United Nations Children’s Fund.
