Summary
Lance Cpl. Dominique A. Johnson fires an M249 squad automatic weapon June 19 during integrated live-fire training as part of Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-8 at the Susungri range in Pohang. ROK and U.S. Marines fired a variety of weapons systems on the range to enhance combat interoperability. KMEP 14-8 is a combined, small-unit training exercise, which enhances the combat readiness and interoperability of ROK and U.S. Marine Corps forces. The exercise also highlights the two countries’ combined commitment to the defense of South Korea and peace and security in the region. Johnson is a Grand Rapids, Michigan, native and military policeman with Company C, 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF.
