Long Beach, N.Y., October 25, 2013 -- A few days before the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, local officials cut the ribbon to open the completed boardwalk to the public. Seventy-five percent of the cost to rebuild the boardwalk was funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance program and New York State will cover the remaining cost.
