Maj. Desmond F. Browne reviews maps of a mock battlefield during a command post exercise April 23 in the Central Training Area near Camp Hansen. “The CPX is centered on our core mission essential tasks,” said Maj. Desmond Brown. “That includes the processing of digital fire missions from the division fire support coordination center down through the shooter, a process known as ‘sensor-to-shooter.’ We are also working on our command and control of subordinate elements.” Browne is a Fairfax, Va., native and the assistant operations officer with Headquarters Battery, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
