Maj. Sam Baker, a native of Huntsville, Ala., who serves as chief of civil affairs operations with the civil affairs section for the 4th Infantry Division and Multi-National Division – Baghdad, works at his workstation in division headquarters, Nov. 19. Baker is assigned to 425th Civil Affairs Battalion, an Army Reserve unit based out of Santa Barbara, Calif., which is currently attached to 4th Inf. Div. Back home in Alabama, and in addition to his military career, Baker has served as a law enforcement officer for 24 years.
