Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay sergeant major accepts sword of office

Sgt. Maj. Eric B. Sutton, sergeant major of Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, prepares to receive the non-commissioned officer sword of office from Lt. Col. Jeffrey P. Pellegrino, commanding officer, MCAS, during Sutton's appointment ceremony at Hangar 105 on MCAS, July 11. Following the appointment, Pellegrino heartily welcomed Sutton, saying leading MCAS without a senior enlisted leader for the last five months helped him better understand the significant impact of a sergeant major. Sutton took his post at the air station following duties as the company first sergeant for Headquarters and Instructor Company, Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry East, at Camp Geiger, N.C.
