Both units deployed to Kuwait to support U.S. Army Central Command (Forward) and Operation Iraqi Freedom.The 164th Quartermaster Group, has validated and ordered over 700 million gallons of fuel for Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait over the past nine months. Brig. Gen. Kevin A. Leonard, commander of the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) said the 164th QMG has brought great credit upon themselves, the 1st TSC and the U.S. Army. ?The unit has effectively increased the fuel storage capabilities for the Iraq operational area by 57 percent, and expertly coordinated the largest ground fuel delivery numbers in military history.?
