Members of a boarding team from the guided missile destroyer USS GOLDSBOROUGH (DDG-20) take their places aboard a 26-foot personnel boat to return to the ship after conducting a preliminary search of the Iraqi merchant vessel Zanoobia. The GOLDSBOROUGH is one of the ships of the Maritime Interdiction Force (MIF), a multinational force organized at the start of Operation Desert Shield to enforce U.S. trade sanctions against Iraq.
