Members of the 40th Infantry Division enjoy some barbecue with their Australian counterparts during Exercise Talisman Sabre 2011 at Kokoda Barracks, Queensland, Australia, during the massive joint exercise July 25. Nearly 120 California Army National Guardsmen assisted in running the Combined Forces Land Component Command, which was responsible for planning and tracking all elements related to the land war during Exercise Talisman Sabre 2011, a massive bilateral exercise aimed at improving the combat readiness and interoperability of the American and Australian forces.
