Members of the Japan Ground Self Defense Force demonstrate “care under fire” for their bilateral partners with the Indiana National Guard’s 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team during Orient Shield 2018. The objectives of OS 18 include training U.S. ground forces for deployment to Japan in the event of contingencies; exercising Japan Ground Self Defense Force and U.S. Army capabilities for the defense of Japan; preparing U.S. forces for combined, multinational and joint full - spectrum tactical operations; and increasing interoperability between U.S. forces and JGSDF.
