Members of the USA Softball Women’s National Team and the Japanese Toyota Red Terriers softball team stand for a moment of silence before a softball game in Iwakuni City, Japan, July 31, 2018. The moment of silence was conducted for the victims of flooding in western Japan that occurred in early July, 2018. The U.S. team visited Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni and Iwakuni City in order to prepare for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s World Championship where they are scheduled to compete for a spot in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
