Summary

Military personnel and civilians participated in an emergency evacuation drill Feb. 17 in Pattaya, Chonburi province, Kingdom of Thailand, during exercise Cobra Gold 2013. The event was designed to increase the readiness of participating militaries to collaboratively conduct an orderly emergency evacuation in the event of a natural disaster or civil unrest. Service members from the Kingdom of Thailand, the U.S., Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia participated in the evacuation drill. Cobra Gold, in its 32nd iteration, is a multinational exercise that promotes regional prosperity, security and cooperation among partner militaries.
