Mortar round reaches for sky: A mortar round soars into the sky while Iraqi soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Brigade, 3rd Iraqi Army Division conduct a live fire exercise at Destiny Range, April 17, 2011. “Head Hunter" soldiers assigned to 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division prepared the Iraqi unit for the live fire exercise with more than a week of mortar training classes at the Ghuzlani Warrior Training Center. “I feel more confident on the mortar system, and now I can go back and train other soldiers,” said Pfc. Hagi Darwesh, a mortarman with 1st Battalion, 9th Brigade, 3rd IA Division.
