New Zealand Army Gunner Nathan Cookson, left, races U.S. Marine Capt. Ryan Von Rembow to see who can assemble the IW Steyr faster, Aug. 11, 2015, at Camp Linton, New Zealand. The New Zealand Army Soldiers introduced the rifle to U.S. Marines in preparation for a live-fire range, during exercise Joint Assault Signals Company Black. Friendly competition arose when the Soldiers demonstrated the proper loading, firing, assembling and disassembling procedures. Cookson is a signal bombardier with 161 Battery, 16 Field Regiment. Von Rembow is from Fayetteville, Arkansas, and a UH-1Y pilot/forward air control officer with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF.
