NY National Guard Officer takes on unique mission during COVID 19 response

New York Army National Guard Lt. Col. Peter Morrissey, right, who normally commands a training battalion at Camp Smith Training Site conducts a briefing on access control to the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, N.Y. after it was converted into an alternative facility to treat hospital patients known as the Javits New York Medical Center on April 3, 2020. Eventually the facility housed 2,500 people and treated 1,095 COVID 19 patients. Morrissey was charged with coordinating access control among military, police and civilian partners.
