Summary
The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) returns to its homeport of Everett, Wash., completing its six-month deployment in the western Pacific Ocean and U.S. Central Command areas of responsibility. The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2 successfully flew more than 8,300 sorties and completed more than 23,500 flying hours, of which more than 3,600 sorties and nearly 11,000 hours were flown in support of U.S. and coalition ground forces supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
