Operation United Assistance
Summary
Major General Gary Volesky, Commander of Joint Force Command - United Assistance, looks out the door of a UH-60L Blackhawk Helicopter during a tour of Ebola treatment unit construction sites throughout Liberia on Nov. 12, 2014. Volesky often visits ETUs under construction to track the progress and ensure everyone on site has what they need to get the job done. Building ETUs is JFC-UA’s primary mission supporting the U.S. Agency for International Development. United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation to provide command and control, logistics, training and engineering support to USAID-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in West African nations.
