POPE ARMY AIRFIELD, N.C. — A full “blue moon” passes
Summary
POPE ARMY AIRFIELD, N.C. — A full “blue moon” passes over the 43d Operations Support Squadron air traffic control tower on the flightline here early Feb. 1, 2018. The 43d OSS operates the tower and other functions of the airfield here while supporting Air Force operations at Pope. The squadron is part of the 43d Air Mobility Operations Group — an Air Mobility Command unit which supports airlift training and real-world operations for Army and Air Force conventional and special operations units at Fort Bragg, moving millions of pounds of cargo and thousands of passengers each year.
