Red Lions conduct situational training
Summary
First Lt. Steve Whitton, a platoon leader with Company A, 308th Brigade Support Battalion, 17th Fires Brigade, briefs his platoon before they convoy through an improvised-explosive-device training lane during a situational training exercise. Soldiers with Company A conducted training operations to develop leadership capabilities, teamwork and overall situational awareness. As a support unit, the company is made up of soldiers who must be ready to undergo any unforeseen obstacles in order to provide mission-essential supplies during a deployment. By completing training scenarios, the soldiers can actively practice techniques needed to achieve mission success and will stand ready to employ those techniques at any time. (U.S. Army photo by Spc.
