S03-19-047 - STS-003 - PDP grappled by RMS is held above payload bay
Summary
The original finding aid described this as:
Description: Plasma Diagnostics Package (PDP) grappled by remote manipulator system (RMS) end effector is held above payload bay (PLB) to measure fields and particles in the orbiter's plasma wake. Office of Space Science (OSS)-1 unpressurized u-shaped Spacelab (SL) pallet with Vehicle Charging and Potential (VCAP) Experiment, Induced Atmosphere Experiment, Solar Ultraviolet Spectral Irradiance Monitor (SUSIM), and Solar Flare X-Ray Polarimeter Experiment (on starboard side); PDP Antenna, and Contamination Monitor Package (CMP) (on port side); and Thermal Canister Experiment (TCE) (in center, above other experiments) appears in PLB below deployed RMS and grappled PDP. Vertical tail, orbital maneuvering system (OMS) pods, and Earth's surface appear in the background.
