Description: During STS-46 operations, the Tethered Satellite System 1 (TSS-1) satellite drifts in space on the end of a dielectric Kevlar cord (tether). The Dipole-Field Antenna, the Langmuir Probe, The S-Band Antenna and the Research on Orbital Plasma Electrodynamics are visible. Later the TSS-1 satellite will be reeled back into Atlantis', Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 104's, payload bay (PLB).
