Description: STS-49 Mission Specialist (MS) Kathryn C. Thornton works a strut into a node ball at the top of the Assembly of Station by Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Methods (ASEM). Structure being constructed in Endeavour's, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 105's, payload bay (PLB). Thornton joins the three struts together as STS-49's fourth period of EVA proceeds. Clouds over the ocean share the background with the remote manipulator system (RMS) end effector. This view was selected by PAO for release to the public.
