Description: STS-49 crewmembers install portable foot restraints (PFRs) onto the starboard longeron and the Multipurpose Experiment Support Structure (MPESS) in preparation for the capture of the International Telecommunications Organization Satellite (INTELSAT) VI F-3 during their third extravehicular activity (EVA) into Endeavour's, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 105's, payload bay (PLB). The EVA team consists of Mission Specialist (MS) Richard J. Hieb (no stripes), MS Thomas Akers (diagonal stripes) and MS Pierre Thuot (solid stripe). The Earth's surface is visible in the background. Behind the astronauts is the vertical perigee stage which will be attached to the Intelsat VI prior to its release from the PLB.
